Bloomberg is reporting the Jared Kushner’s company is about to strike a deal with the Chinese company Anbang Insurance Group that will net his family a cool $400 million. Kushner, of course, is Donald Trump’s son-in-law and a top White House advisor.

The transaction which involves an office tower in Manhattan includes terms that real estate experts consider to be exceptionally favourable for Kushner’s business. The deal values the office tower at $2.85 billion, which Bloomberg points out is the highest value ever for a single Manhattan building.

"At the very least, this raises serious questions about the appearance of a conflict that arises from the possibility that the Kushners are getting a sweetheart deal," said Larry Noble, general counsel at the Campaign Legal Center. "A classic way you influence people is by financially helping their family."

Just another day at the office for the Trump administration.
