When you’ve lost FOX News, you’re no longer a Republican. And that seems to be what’s happening to Donald J. Trump.
NY Times reporter Maggie Haberman reported today (in a tweetstorm) on an e-mail that 21st Century Fox Chairman James Murdoch sent to friends today. (21st Century Fox is the parent company of FOX News, plus all the other FOX-related companies.) Here it is, condensed, with a few typos corrected. Note that since this is a twitter thread, this may have been abridged for length.
What we watched this last week in Charlottesville and the reaction to it by the President of the United States concern all of us as Americans and free people. These events remind us all why vigilance against hate and bigotry is an eternal obligation - a necessary discipline for the preservation of our way of life and our ideals. I can’t even believe I have to write this: standing up to Nazis is essential; there are no good Nazis. Or Klansmen, or terrorists.
Democrats, Republicans, and others must all agree on this, and it compromises nothing for them to do so.
Haberman started her thread with this tweet, reporting that Murdoch has pledged $1 million to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).
