Donald Trump’s tweeted attacks on Mika Brzezinski have caused the Serious(ly useless) Republican Senator Concern machine to swing into gear.

Mr. President, your tweet was beneath the office and represents what is wrong with American politics, not the greatness of America.

Please just stop. This isn't normal and it's beneath the dignity of your office.

Orrin Hatch made similar noises.

Okay, guys. You’ve made your stand for dignity. But how are you voting on Trump’s judicial nominees? How are you voting on Trumpcare? Talk to me when you’re ready to really stand against what Trump stands for. Or really when you’re ready to do anything that would have the White House thinking twice about issuing an immediate and forceful defense of Trump’s tweets:

Huckabee Sanders defends Trump's attacks on Fox: "The outrageous attacks that take place on that show day in day out … they're personal."

Basically, right now what we’ve got is a couple Republicans making noise to make themselves look good for the media even though we all know they’ll continue to support Trump where it matters.

Sen McCain on Trump's Tweets: "I'm just embarrassed–embarrassed isn't the right word–I just regret it."
