Trump figured out sometime during his fundraising jaunt to NYC that enough lawyers weighed in on his Saturday midday tweet which admitted his obstruction of justice.

Unfortunately, tweets from POTUS* can’t be deleted, so Trump gets to blame his lawyer John Dowd, for authoring the tweet, rather than Dan Scavino or Hope Hicks (who’s still alive).

NEW YORK, NY - MARCH 08: Raj Rajaratnam's attorney John Dowd exits the Daniel Patrick Moynihan U.S. Courthouse March 8, 2011 in New York City. It was the first day of Rajaratnam's insider-trading trial where he is facing allegations of pocketing $45 million by illegally trading on insider stock tips. (Photo by Yana Paskova/Getty Images)
Is John Dowd now on the way out? Will Trump have to admit he doesn’t know the past tenses of “plead”? “The fact that Dowd authored the tweet could limit its salience to the investigation, but the White House still hasn't publicly corrected anything.” (WaPo)

And pay no attention to Trump’s earlier screw-up…. because whataboutism!
